Dental Insurance FAQs

How does dental insurance work?

Dental insurance is a prepaid benefit and is an agreement between the employer or individual and the dental insurance provider. Benefits are provided on an annual basis and do not carry over from one year to the next.

What is covered by dental insurance?

Treatment coverage varies from one dental insurance provider to another. Most carriers cover preventive services such as dental cleanings, routine examinations and dental x-rays. As a courtesy, we will contact your insurance provider to determine your benefits before scheduling treatment.

Do you participate with any dental insurance plans?

Valley Dental Health participates with many dental insurance plans. We work with all other dental insurance companies as a non-participating provider. Your treatment will still be covered, but the reimbursement will work differently than if we were a direct participant. We would be happy to address any specific questions about your dental insurance provider.
