Meet Our Team Hunt Valley, MD

Meghan

Dental Hygienist

Hi! I’m Meghan and I’ve been in dentistry since 2012. I started out as an assistant and then furthered my education to become a hygienist. I went to Alleghany College of Maryland and graduated in 2019.

I have a huge passion for dentistry and to continue to learn in order to make myself a better clinician to my patients! I have done volunteer work with Mission of Mercy, the Health Department, and the Dental Museum located right here in Baltimore.

I think it is of upmost importance to keep my patients comfortable. I listen to all kinds of music, and I always have a speaker on hand in my operatory. I am happy to play whatever music is requested or even ocean sounds to keep the atmosphere calm.

I have always lived in Carroll County which may seem boring to some, but I like the open quiet space and nature. Even though I am all about the small town feel, I also love to experience new adventures with travel and cuisine. I try to stay active with hiking, dancing, and yoga since I am such a foodie.

For down time, I relish a good book by the fire in the winter or the front porch in the summer. Photography is great to record my many adventures, and I enjoy scrapbooking so I can share these experiences and memories with others.

I look forward to treating you and remember, “You don’t have to floss all your teeth, just the ones you want to keep!”

Kristen

Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Kristen and I’ve been practicing dental hygiene since 2014, when I graduated with an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science from The Community College of Baltimore County.

Growing up, I loved going to the dentist and looked forward to my 6-month visits. By the age of 14, I knew that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. People always ask what made me want to become a hygienist and my answer is always the same.

One, my pediatric dentist and his staff of hygienists inspired me to be what they were for me: dental professionals who cared deeply about their patients both while in the chair and personally, and would do anything to make them comfortable.

Two, I enjoy helping people. I want to make sure that I’m giving each patient the best care possible while making them comfortable during their dental visit. I also enjoy getting to know my patients on a more personal level so that it’s more than just a visit to the dentist’s office.

I was born and raised in Eastern Baltimore County and still reside there today with my husband, Sebastian, whom I married in 2017. I love sports and am most passionate about baseball and the Orioles. I even had the opportunity to work as a ball girl for the Orioles in 2011.

Summer is my favorite season because not only can I watch the O’s, but I can also visit one of my favorite places, Ocean City, MD, where I love to spend time on the beach. Even though I’m a hygienist, I still have a sweet tooth. I love all things with sugar, but my favorite sweets are pretty much any type candy and doughnuts.

If we’ve already met, I look forward to seeing you again, and if we haven’t met yet, I can’t wait to meet you soon at Valley Dental Health!

Allison

Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Allison and I’m the newest hygienist at Valley Dental Health! I’m a huge dental nerd and am thrilled to be part of this amazing, patient-focused practice.

I began my journey in dentistry in 2010 as a CDA after graduating from Medix School (now known as Fortis Institute), and quickly decided I wanted to further my education and become a dental hygienist. I have many years of experience assisting in numerous advanced dental procedures such as dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and even some extensive surgeries!

I graduated from CCBC’s Dental Hygiene program in May of 2022 and while I will miss working on more complex dental procedures, I feel so fulfilled in my new role as a provider of quality dental care and education.

I love personalizing everyone’s care based on their individual needs, so I ask many questions and do a lot of listening. I believe there isn’t room for shame when helping people, so long as you are willing, we can work together to find existing barriers to your oral health and hygiene. Setting reasonable short term and long-term goals are a big part of my approach, as well as a huge emphasis on educating you so you can see the big picture.

A little about me; I live in the Remington neighborhood in Baltimore City with my fiancé Billy and our three cats. I love exploring the city and the sense of community in my neighborhood. A few of my favorite things are being silly, listening to music (preferably live or at a festival!), house plants, traveling, and living life to the fullest.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you improve your oral health!

Hunter

Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Hunter. I have been at Valley Dental Health for almost two years but have been a dental hygienist for 17 years. I attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where I graduated from the hygiene program in 2006.

My favorite part about being a hygienist has always been my ability to connect with my patients. I enjoy learning about them and their stories. I have a knack for making people laugh and have been told that it helps my patients to relax when they come in for their visits.

I grew up in a military family and relocated to Maryland from California when I was a young child. Currently, I live in Pasadena with my wife Heather and our adorable two year old son, Shaw. Outside of dentistry I also have a passion for carpentry (I am currently building my own home) and Formula 1 racing!!

I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment and getting to know you better!

Mandi

Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Mandi and I’ve been practicing dental hygiene since 2015, when I graduated with an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science from The Community College of Baltimore County.

Since graduating, I have had opportunities to work and volunteer all over Maryland. I have also been a dental hygiene instructor since 2016. I am so fortunate to now be a part of this amazing team at Valley Dental Health.

While I have a huge passion for teaching, I equally love working directly with patients. I focus on finding easy ways to help patients improve their overall oral health.

On the weekends, I enjoy reading and hiking my three dogs Miley, Bella and Libby.
